This Raw Hot Chocolate Recipe has come about due to feeling a little chilly of late. Something to do with winter I think! Making this yummy warming spiced raw hot chocolate every afternoon has helped ward off the chill. With this Raw Hot Chocolate recipe – I’ve named it Spicy Cacao Bliss in a Cup – of which I’m about to share with you because it tastes SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!
Spicy Cacao Bliss in a Cup:
In a small high powered blender (the Rocket Blender is great for this) you will need to add:
- 1C raw almond milk
- 1 heaped T raw cacao powder
- 1t dark agave syrup (if you have a sweet tooth you can adjust to taste)
- 1t cinnamon
- 1/2 t powdered star anise (crushed in a mortar and pestle)
- Optional: 1/4 vanilla bean pod (slice to split open and scrape vanilla seeds into blender).
Blend all in blender for approx. 3 minutes. This will warm the drink up but not heat it enough to destroy all the good stuff. Pour into a latte glass or tea cup, coffee mug, dust with a sprinkling of cinnamon. And serve. YUM!
