You will love this recipe, if, like me, you need chocolate in your life but also need protein.
And not just a small amount of protein, I am talking high protein!
Even more important, is maintaining muscle as we age, so combine weight training with this post workout high protein chocolate fix and you’ll live forever looking buff and feeling strong!
Makes approx. 8-10 individual servings.
Ingredients for the High Protein Tofu Chocolate Mousse:
- 300g block firm tofu, non GMO, organic
- 4T maple syrup OR 4T honey OR 1/2C date paste
- 150g melted dark chocolate (optional but highly recommend)
- 1t vanilla extract
- 4T cacao powder
- 2 scoops vanilla or chocolate plant based protein powder
- 2C coconut milk or other plant based milk
- Pinch salt
- Berries of your choice to garnish
Add all ingredients (except melted chocolate and berries) to a high powdered blender.
Blend until smooth, use the tamper or pounder to help this process along (add more milk if you need to, but keep the consistency slightly thick).
Lastly pour in melted chocolate and blend again until smooth, using the tamper to combine if you need to.
Pour into individual ramekins or glasses and serve topped with your favorite berries.
