Chia Quinoa Turmeric Porridge with Caramelised Bananas & Cashews

Okies… so I got plenty of requests for this Chia & Quinoa Turmeric Porridge with Caramelised Bananas & Cashews so here it is:

Serves 1.



  • 4T cooked quinoa

  • 1T chia seeds

  • 1C coconut milk

  • 1t cinnamon

  • 1/2t turmeric powder

  • cracked pepper

  • 1t maple syrup or coconut nectar or sweetener of your choice

Caramelised Bananas:

  • 1 banana, sliced lengthways

  • 2T natural cashews

  • 2t raw sugar

  • 1T organic butter or 1T coconut oil


In a saucepan, combine all ingredients for the porridge and stir bringing to a gentle simmer. Simmer for a few minutes then remove from heat. Set aside while you do the bananas.

In a frypan, gently heat butter or coconut oil until melted. Sprinkle raw sugar over bananas – each side and place in fry pan along with the cashews and cook until golden, turn over and repeat on the other side.

In a bowl add chia quinoa turmeric porridge and place caramelised bananas and cashews on top.
Feel free to add your favourite toppings (i love using toasted coconut flakes), and fruits, coconut yoghurt to serve.
